Terms of Use
These terms apply to teachers and other adults who create an account to use Spark Literacy. By using the service you agree to these terms.
Your account
- Keep your login credentials safe and do not share them.
- Each teacher should have their own individual account.
- Provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
Acceptable use
Spark Literacy is intended for creating classroom teaching materials. You agree not to:
- Abuse the generator, for example through excessive automated requests.
- Resell or share access to the service without our permission.
- Upload or request content that is unlawful, harmful or offensive.
- Use generated outputs to impersonate a real person.
Generated content
You may use, print and adapt the resources you generate for teaching purposes. Because the content is produced by an AI model, it can contain errors, so you are responsible for reviewing every generated sentence or resource before sharing it with students.
Free and Premium plans
Spark Literacy offers a Free plan with a small set of sentence structures and one sentence at a time, and a Premium plan with expanded features, billed monthly or annually. Available features may change over time. A Premium subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. If you cancel, you will not be charged again and your access continues until the end of the period you already paid for. Prices are shown in Australian, Canadian, New Zealand, British or United States currency depending on your country, and are not automatically converted between currencies.
Payments
All payments are processed by a third-party payment provider, which handles your card details directly. Spark Literacy does not store your card information.
No guarantee of accuracy
The service uses artificial intelligence to generate text. We do not guarantee that outputs will be accurate, complete or suitable for every classroom context, and you remain responsible for checking generated resources before use.
Automated access
You may not use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to access the service beyond normal classroom use, or in a way that places excessive load on our systems.
Intellectual property
The Spark Literacy name, logo and interface are owned by Spark Literacy and may not be copied or used without permission. The resources you generate may be used freely in your own classroom and teaching practice.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, Spark Literacy is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the service or reliance on generated content.
Suspension
We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, including accounts used for abusive or unlawful activity.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use of Spark Literacy after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Contact
If you have a question about these terms, please get in touch via our contact page. Spark Literacy is the entity responsible for this service.
